The WipFly Project - Kickstarter
IP Controlled and geographically distributed WiFi drones in the form of a mobile game.
The fastest and easiest way to experience first person view (FPV) Drone flight without buying a Drone. If you have a connected mobile device you can start playing WipFly in minutes.
WHAT IS WIPFLY?
WipFly is a mobile game app for flying real life FPV Drones without having to own one.
HOW DOES WIPFLY WORK?
• INSTALL THE WIPFLY APP
• PURCHASE FLIGHT TIME
• CONNECT WITH A DRONE
• START FLYING
THE WIPFLY MOBILE GAME APP
The WipFly mobile app provides access to an available WipFly base station and drone fleet from anywhere in the world.
THE WIPFLY STUDIOS
All Drones will be located in our studios and will be available for game play 24 hours a day. WipFly studios are locations with interesting terrain and obstacles to make flight time entertaining and action packed.
Players can be located anywhere in the world with a mobile device and internet access.
Our fleet of Drones have selectable speeds, auto stabilizers and multidirectional maneuvering to provide versatile, precise shooting of captivating scenes. The Drones camera is made from crash-resistant materials to ensure long-lasting use.
The WipFly network is a TCP/IP network utilising internet connected mobile devices as game controllers running the WipFly 1.0 mobile app. The Mobile app connects with a IP based appliance through a VPN to provides a bridge to our fleet of WiFi drones for remote third party flights.
The WipFly platform operates on IP network infrastructure and requires network appliances along with networking gear with network security to insure the highest level of availability. We need your support to complete the network build out and security implementation to get our initial fleet of drones up and flying.
HOW WILL THE FUNDS BE SPENT?
60% Network build out
15% Security implementation
15% Studio build out
10% Marketing and Advertising
Risks and challenges
We are a small team taking on a the task of developing a new way of mobile gaming. We have budgeted the network build out to the best of our ability and have taken into account the cost of scale upfront. If we do not reach our expect usage rate based on network utilization costs, the project could become challenged.
