War Is My Business: September 2019

Covering the current state of War Is My Business. It will cover the tasks we have accomplished and those we would like to in the next few months, including social media, publications, and monetization efforts.

At the close of August, War Is My Business (WIMB) was successfully registered as an assumed business named in Linn County in the State of Oregon and had its own business account established. These were important steps leading into September, as this was the month in which we went live with the website.

The URL, https://warismybusiness.com/, went live on September 2nd, with the entirety of the scientific section of the site laid out and available to the public.

In the following days, we fleshed out some of the other auxiliary elements; the Book Review, Support, and Contact sections.

We published four book reviews during the month of September:

Social Media:

At the beginning of September, with the website going live, we pushed out the initial invites to the Facebook group for WIMB.

We began our YouTube page, and posted the music we commissioned for the use of our eventual channel trailer.  Commissioned avatars for videos covering articles and book reviews.

Monetization:

On September 4th, we became Amazon Associates.

Future Tasks

Website:

Within the next few months we will be working towards completing articles in support of the The Warfare and The Business sections of WIMB.  Will include the Civil-Military Divide; how it came and how we bridge it, as well as comparisons between the military profession and the ethics of warfare and that of business..

Plan on developing a standalone About page.

Will continue to develop book reviews that will help develop the aforementioned articles;  currently working through Samuel P. Huntington's The Soldier and the State.

Social Media:

Within the next week or so we will have completed the YouTube Channel Video which will also be posted to the homepage of the WIMB website.

Monetization:

As YouTube videos are being produced, at some point, we will utilize YouTube ads in order to generate a small amount of revenue.
