Danes defy climate fear in record years: We still love New York
Never have we traveled as much as now. And we have never made so many long journeys. Across the Atlantic to the United States, especially to New York which in 2018 was the top scorer of the Danes' destinations outside Europe. Here, there were 386,851 travelers who flew from Copenhagen by direct flight to New York last year. An increase of 6.2 percent over the previous year.
One of the reasons why, for example, New York and other American cities' popularity has grown among Danes is also that more direct routes from Copenhagen, it says.
All qualified international travelers wishing to travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program must apply for a permit.
To increase the security of travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program, the requirements for travel without a visa have been tightened. Citizens from countries under the Visa Waiver Program will still be able to travel without a visa, but they must obtain an approved travel permit before traveling to the United States.
Approved ESTA applications are valid for two years, or until the passport expires, whichever comes first, and for multiple trips to the United States, without the traveler having to reapply for a new ESTA. When traveling to the United States with the approved ESTA, you must only stay in the United States for a maximum of 90 days - and there must be a reasonable time between visits so that the CBP officer does not think you are trying to settle there. There is no requirement for the length of time between each visit.
Travelers whose ESTA application is approved but whose passport expires within two years will receive an ESTA that is valid until the expiry date of the passport.
