Environmental podcast festival debuts in Colorado Springs
Local podcast collective invites the public to join the live audience, ask questions, and provide comments
By: Studio 809 LLC
Three expert panels will discuss:
Groundwater Contamination (firefighting foam)
Making Local Food Flourish
Energy Future of Colorado Springs
Colorado Senator Pete Lee will moderate the Groundwater Contamination panel. These panels are very timely, owing to:
1) Groundwater in the area of the U.S. Air Force Academy has recently been found to contain PFAS contaminants similar to the experience of the Fountain/Widefield/
2) Colorado Springs Utilities is developing a new Electric Integrated Resource Plan (EIRP) to guide the citizen-owned utility in its selection of electricity generation resources.
The panels will provide updated information on these issues.
Six area nonprofits partner to produce the Peak Environment podcast at Studio 809:
Green Cities Coalition
Peak Alliance for a Sustainable Future
Pikes Peak Environmental Forum
Pikes Peak Group of Sierra Club
Pikes Peak Library District Green Team
Pikes Peak Permaculture
Representatives of these organizations will be at the event to answer questions and share information about their initiatives. Details at https://www.facebook.com/
