ORLANDO, Fla. - Oct. 1, 2019 - PRLog -- One of Orlando's oldest historic buildings is entering a new age, with a complete restoration project thanks to the owner of United Trophy & Awards.

Located at 610 North Orange Ave., the 22,000-square-feet Art Deco building has been a city landmark since the 1930s. United Trophy has served as its longest tenant, calling the historic building home since 1968.

Owner Lamont Garber's goal with the restoration project is to bring the building back to its original luster, preserving its deep history.

·         United Trophy will repair the original frame and install a new canopy with brushed nickel, modern lighting, windows, stucco and door framing.

·         The team will repair and preserve the building's original neon lights and tile.

·         The company will install vintage vitrolite structural glass, gathered from other old structures to match the new building's colors while maintaining authenticity.

·         The entire building will be painted to replicate its Art Deco style.

·         Once the restoration is complete, a new custom sign complimenting the building's design will be installed.

To ensure all architectural features remain intact, United Trophy is working closely with the City of Orlando's Appearance Review Board during the updating process.

"The 610 building has been a landmark in Orlando for nearly a century," said Garber. "It's essential we preserve and protect its important Art Deco heritage."

United Trophy & Awards has been serving the Greater Orlando community for over 50 years. With three convenient locations throughout Central Florida and countless services and products, the trophy store has made it easy for clients to become long-lasting partners.

"Just as this building has held a historic place in the City Beautiful, so has United Trophy," said Garber. "We're so excited to restore our building to its former glory and look forward to serving our community for years to come."

The renovations have already started and are scheduled to be complete by early 2020.
