Local Community Supports the Alaska Adult & Teen Challenge Hope Gala 2019

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Oct. 3, 2019 - PRLog -- The Anchorage community is supporting the Alaska Campus of the Pacific Northwest Adult & Teen Challenge's Hope Gala 2019, an event celebrating the tremendous success of the addiction recovery program since it opened a local chapter over three years ago. As the Alaska crime rate continues to rise in correlation with substance abuse, Adult & Teen Challenge is an important player in making a positive impact on its local community. Funds from the event will support the expansion of Adult & Teen Challenge throughout the State. The event takes place on Saturday, October 19th at 5:00 p.m. at ChangePoint Alaska in Anchorage.

By this time, Alaskans know that their crime rate is the highest in the nation (and rising). Last August, the Alaska Department of Public Safety released new statistics that the rate had risen 6% between 2016 and 2017, going "hand-in-hand" with the statewide opioid epidemic. Adult & Teen Challenge is one of the courageous organizations standing in the gap that contributes to rising crime in Alaska, working life by life to create a legacy of change that has far-reaching effects on the future of our State.

The Adult & Teen Challenge men's residential program has a 70% success rate, a powerful statistic demonstrating the effectiveness of their approach. Adult & Teen Challenge uses a comprehensive, faith-based approach to addiction recovery, creating an environment that addresses all aspects of their students' lives to help them find total freedom from addiction. They currently have one men's residential program in the Mat-Su Valley, several non-residential programs in Anchorage, Wasilla, Fairbanks, Haines, and the North Slope, and two mobile crisis centers coming soon to Anchorage and the Mat-Su Valley.

The gala will celebrate the incredible testimonies of Adult & Teen Challenge students who have overcome addiction, update the local community on what's happening as the program plans to expand throughout the State, and outline how individuals and businesses can donate or get involved to show their support. Individual tickets are $69 and table sponsorships for eight are $550. Interested parties are encouraged to commit to filling a table with friends, family, or coworkers.
