Board Basis at the Pilgrim Country House Hotel (you decide)

BASINGSTOKE, U.K. - Sept. 30, 2019 - PRLog -- The Pilgrim Country House Hotel in the Wye Valley – located mid-way between Hereford and Ross-on-Wye in the heart of cider country – has introduced a 'choose your own board' tariff.

Comments Steve Boyle, ex-England and British Lions rugby player who owns and runs the hotel: "Board basis can be confusing with B&B, half-board and full board.

"So, we decided to create the ultimate, flexible tariff, whereby guests can choose whatever board basis suits them best.  We also offer very good upgrade options to one of our new 'Country Collection' rooms.

"Some people never leave the hotel during a stay, so full board is the best option,  whilst others are rarely here and prefer to be B&B so they can explore the area and eat lunch and dinner in lots of different places.  By choosing your own basis, it also means that you get the best possible value for money."

The hotel is in the village of Much Birch, right on the Herefordshire trail making it ideal for keen walkers (there is a special walking package available that includes a picnic lunch).

The area is also close to the River Wye making it perfect for a fishing break (Steve is a keen angler and can help guests with the best places to go), and there are also many golf courses in the area to take on.

Although a 'country house hotel' the atmosphere is very informal (Steve has a lot of repeat visitors), and the friendly bar retains more of a country village pub feel, with lots of locally brewed ales and ciders to enjoy.

The Valley Restaurant – which is located at the back of the hotel – has uninterrupted views across the Wales border towards the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons beyond; ideal for a relaxed breakfast, lunch or romantic dinner.

For warm summer days and evenings, there is a large wooden terrace to make the most of the view with a G&T or a cream tea.

A two-night stay in one of the new Country Collection rooms, costs from £95 pp, on a B&B basis,  £149 pp half-board, and £179 pp full board.  All prices are based on two people sharing a room.
