40th World Tourism Day Celebrated in Nepal

KATHMANDU, Nepal - Sept. 30, 2019 - PRLog -- 40th World Tourism Day was celebrated in Nepal, with the theme of "Tourism and Jobs: A Better Future For All". The event started with welcoming of tourists who arrived by the first flight in the morning for their Nepal tour at the Tribhuvan International Airport. The welcome program at TIA was followed by rally of tourism organizations and entrepreneurs from the entrance of tourist hub Thamel passing through Durbarmarg and then to newly inaugurated Ganatantra Park on the eastern side of Narayanhiti Palace, where the main event of the program was conducted. Similarly, a welcome program was held at Bhaktapur, a UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site of Kathmandu Valley.

Program at Ganatantra Park started with National Anthem followed by a moment of silence in memory of the martyrs of Nepal to whom the park is dedicated. Chief Guest at the program was Hon'ble Minister of State for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Mr. Dhan Bahadur Buda. Also present were Secretary of MoCTCA Mr. Kedar Bahadur Adhikari, Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Tourism Board Mr. Deepak Raj Joshi, Joint Secretary of MoCTCA Mr. Ghanshyam Upadhyay and National Coordinator for Visit Nepal 2020 Mr. Suraj Vaidya.

Present at the program were Nepal Government and NTB officials, representatives from the private sector including top officials and decision makers, tourism entrepreneurs, cultural performers and dance troupes, students and members of the media.
