Do You Suffer From Hypertonic Pelvic Floor Dysfunction? Our Clinic Can Help You

By: Cyrux

NEWMARKET, Ontario - Sept. 26, 2019 - PRLog -- Hypertonic Pelvic Floor Dysfunction is when the pelvic floor muscles are not able to relax, remain tense, and have spasms — the opposite of a prolapsed pelvic floor. When your pelvic floor muscles are tight or weak, they can also put stress on the joints of your back and hips, leading to persistent low back and hip pain. This can cause discomfort and lead to a variety of issues seen in both men and women.

Common signs of a Hypertonic Pelvic Floor are:

• Lower back pain
• Lower abdominal pain
• Painful sexual intercourse
• Pain or constipation when emptying the bowels
• Pelvic pain
• Hip pain
• Painful urination
• Slowed urine flow
• Difficulty urinating
• Incontinence
• Urinary urgency/frequency

Some patients can even experience mood changes when they have tense pelvic muscles. For example, some patients report feeling depressed, anxious, stressed, and fatigued.
