WATFORD, U.K. - Sept. 24, 2019 - PRLog -- Local businesswoman Susan Barrett from RabbIT Training Ltd has been shortlisted as a finalist in the national Best Business Woman in Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths (STEM) category.

RabbIT Training, located in Bushey, Hertfordshire, has been providing bespoke Microsoft training packages since 2001.  It is also an accredited provider of training for Splicecom end users with further experience of developing and delivering training courses on IP telephony systems. Additionally, RabbIT offer training for software deployments and technical writing.

The UK wide Best Business Women Awards are specifically for female business owners who are making a real impact for their clients.

Barrett achieves this by ensuring that Microsoft Office and Windows users operate their PCs proficiently and don't waste time or the employer's money with roundabout methods of working and waste hours of frustration through lack of knowledge.

"I have an aptitude for translating 'tech talk' into plain English so that anyone can understand it and I set up RabbIT Training in 2001 so I could freelance as a trainer" says Barrett.

"I've been working with Microsoft Office and Splicecom for several decades now, and I believe that everyone, no matter what level they are, can benefit from being trained by an expert - whether you're a beginner or you just need a refresh. I've made it my mission to deliver my training wherever it's needed.

"I also believe knowledge is power and it gives me a real thrill when I see my 'students' growing and developing and becoming more productive team members."

The business world is full of talented and dedicated female entrepreneurs who not only run successful businesses but, in many cases, also juggle the needs of their families.

Debbie Gilbert, of The Best Business Women Awards said: "This is the 5th year of these prestigious awards. We were delighted with the number of entries this year, which came in from all over the UK.

"This is a tough competition judged by business experts. To be a finalist is a major achievement. Finalists have been selected for their business acumen, determination, creativity and tenacity. Well over 80% of start-ups fail in the first 3 years and all our finalists are shining examples of being successful entrepreneurs who have proved their success to our judges."

The gala final of The Best Business Women Awards will be held on 11th October 2019 at The Tower Hotel in London when the winners will be announced.

"I'm delighted to have been shortlisted as a finalist again in the Best Business Women Awards STEM category," says Barrett, "fingers crossed that I make it to the winners' podium this year!"
