Follow on Google News | Rosy Palomino, activist and community leader files for City of Miami District 2 CommissionerPalomino calls for a return to a "leadership that cares" about "We the People."
By: Palomino 4 Miami Ms. Palomino was inspired to run after receiving a disappointing mailer showing a paltry few accomplishments the incumbent could point to after 4 years in office (see a link to the mailer below). She explains, "Has he been too distracted with personal adventures to collect a decent list of accomplishments in 4 years of being in office? His latest political mailer shows a list of accomplishments that looks more like a wish list." Describing her deep connections to the community and why it needs a fighter like her, "I am the President of the Douglas Park Neighborhood Association which represents the many homes and condos surrounding the 10-acre Douglas Park. I was raised and have lived in this area most of my adult life. This is where I own my home free and clear. I have a lot of history in this district and in this city. It's the only place I've ever called home. No one, not even Mr. Russell, is better equipped to understand the needs of District 2." Ms. Palomino leaves a parting thought to voters, "Let's be clear, in this election there will be someone representing local neighbors and small businesses."
