Official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to be Held for Huntington Learning Center of Simsbury

SIMSBURY, Conn. - Sept. 16, 2019 - PRLog -- Huntington Learning Center (HLC), located at 530 Bushy Hill in the Simsbury Commons Shopping Mall, will hold its official ribbon cutting ceremony in conjunction with the Simsbury Chamber of Commerce at noon on Tuesday, September 17, directly in front of the learning center.

"We're thrilled to not only begin, but continue building relationships within the Farmington Valley communities," said Pasquale Cirone, PhD, owner of the learning center. "Education is already a top priority with students and parents locally, our goal at Huntington is to help support them with subject specific tutoring and test prep for many years to come."

The ribbon cutting ceremony will be attended by both community and Simsbury Chamber of commerce members and will feature a small ceremony with light lunch to follow.

Educational support for local parents and students is becoming crucial as newly released factors for college admission acceptance could affect Farmington Valley students applying to college – a change that many may not even be aware is being implemented.

"We're seeing some recent shifts by the College Board [the governing body that oversees SAT scoring] that would present additional data during the admission process regarding students," says Pasquale. "Socioeconomic factors such as median household income, neighborhood environment, etc., will be considered on college applications, something that hasn't been done in the past. A few extra points on an SAT could be critical in setting students apart from other applicants coming from a more challenged background."

Pasquale will be on hand during the ribbon cutting to discuss some of the changes that will be coming to the college admissions process, as well as other services Huntington Learning Center can offer to local students and parents.

"We're here for the community to help in any way we can when it comes to education," says Pasquale. "I'm excited to begin the journey and partnership with the surrounding communities."
