-- The American Financial Education Alliance (AFEA) is dedicated to providing financial education and increasing financial literacy within communities all over the country. Today, the Board of Directors has chosen to continue to do just that, by unanimously voting Tim Stearns as the new Chapter President of AFEA's Arlington Heights, IL #4720 chapter.
Tim Stearns was born in Arlington Heights, a suburb of Chicago. He graduated from Rolling Meadows High School as a member of the National Honor Society. Tim continued his education locally at Illinois State University, graduated from ISU and later continued his education receiving degrees at DePaul University and Northern Illinois University. As the President of TJ Stearns, Inc., Tim uses his 25 years of retirement planning experience and his weekly radio show on WLS to educate his clients on ways to protect their assets, reduce taxes and provide more income over their lifetime. To date, he is a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®), Chartered Federal Employee Benefit Consultant℠ (ChFEBC℠), Certified Financial Educator®(CFEd®)
and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA). Tim is someone who appreciates life and desires to give back to his community. He is involved in a number of civic and charitable organizations including Cystic Fibrosis and the Michael DeZonna Foundation as well as local organizations and companies. He also coaches youth programs for football, baseball, and basketball. Tim and Jen have been married 23 years with three children. He is a sports enthusiast and enjoys coaching his kids' youth teams.
