It's a sign! Celebrity drag queen comedy duo to headline January fundraiser

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Sept. 11, 2019 - PRLog -- Tickets and sponsorships are available for the Sally J. Pimentel Deaf & Hard of Hearing Center's Deafies in Drag fundraising event to be held Jan. 11, 2020 in Fort Myers.

The event will feature Selena Minogue and Casavina, two drag queens who make up the deaf comedy duo, Deafies in Drag. In addition to nearly a quarter of a million social media followers, they take their acclaimed comedy sketch show around the world to address deaf struggles, language barriers and deaf life. By poking fun at their deaf experiences, they hope their comedy results in educating others and a positive, inclusive impact for the deaf community. All parts of the show will be professionally interpreted for both deaf and hearing patrons to be sure that every individual is successfully accommodated. Proceeds from the event benefit Sally J. Pimentel Deaf & Hard of Hearing Center, which provides a wide range of services to the deaf and hard of hearing community, including education, advocacy and community involvement.

"With this event, we hope to continue building financial support for our mission to improve the quality of life in Southwest Florida for deaf and hard of hearing citizens," said Alicia Miller, executive director of the Sally J. Pimentel Deaf and Hard of Hearing Center. "In addition, this event supports our ongoing efforts to create community awareness of challenges faced by the deaf and hard of hearing in a way that is fun and engaging."

The event with limited seating, drag queen bingo, a VIP meet-and-greet, and a photo booth is expected to sell out and will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Jan. 11, 2020 at the Collaboratory, 2031 Jackson Street in Fort Myers. An after party will be sponsored and hosted at Millennial Brewing Company after the show from 9 to 11 p.m.

All tickets include beer from Millennial Brewing, wine, and food from Glory Days Grill. Individual tickets are $50 for the show, $60 for the show and bingo, and VIP tickets are $70 and include an exclusive meet-and-greet and photo opportunity with Selena and Casavina.
