Roll N Peace 4: Roll N Pink Decreasing Violence in the Englewood Community

CHICAGO - Sept. 9, 2019 - PRLog -- Think Outside Da Block in conjunction with the Englewood Quality of Life Plan Public Safety Task Force and TIME 21:36 announced its fourth installment of the Roll N Peace critical mass bike tour at the Chicago Transit Authority Ashland/63rd Green Line Station located at 6315 S Ashland on September 13, 2019 at 5:00PM. Using cycling as the plan of action to address the mental health and wellness of the Englewood community the Roll N Peace mass bike tour will increase physical fitness and endurance, promote weight loss, decrease depression and anxiety and improve self-esteem interest in entrepreneurship.

Using data collected and analyzed by TIME 21:36 every bike tour route explores small geographic areas with concentrated crime known as hot spots. Community presence in these areas has been proven to reduce crime without displacement. To this point 007th District Commander Roderick Robinson proudly reports "no violent crimes the day of the event" for all Roll N Peace bike tours. Think Outside Da Block has partnered with the Englewood Quality of Life Plan Public Safety Task Force, TIME 21:36, Teamwork Englewood, Divvy/Lyft, 007th District Chicago Police Department, Working Bikes, Chicago Park District, Consortium to Lower Obesity in Chicago Children, City of Chicago's Bicycling Ambassadors, Chicago Department of Transportation, Vision Zero, Free Bikes 4 Kidz, TOMS, The McCormick Foundation, Safe and Peaceful Communities, and other community organizations in order to bring the Roll N Peace mass bike tour to life.

The event convenes with a resource fair providing participants with education-based activities including, but not limited to, traffic mapping projects that show how to stay safe while traveling, bike repair and maintenance training to promote entrepreneurship in the field of cycle repair and maintenance, free helmets will be distributed and fittings for youth, food demonstrations that provide healthy alternatives to everyday eating habits, mental health and wellness checks provided and various other resources to ensure the health and wellness of community residents. Roll N Peace 4: Roll N Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Edition bike tour will be giving away free pink t-shirts and, in partnership with Metropolitan Chicago Breast Cancer Task Force, will be offering free mammogram screening appointments and literature in honor of breast cancer awareness month. Free bike rentals are also available through partnership with Divvy/Lyft to provide options for adults without proper cycling available to them. At 8:00PM after safety checks are conducted we will proceed on a 7-mile bike tour through the historic Englewood community.
