New Greeting Cards from America by Avanti Press
Eight new cards including a photograph of the 1910 Brush Runabout
"A couple enjoys an afternoon spin in their Brush Runabout. Although Henry Ford's iconic Model T, introduced in 1908, famously "put the world on wheels," such lesser-known makes as the American Underslung, Autoette, Baby Moose, Saginaw Speedster, and Dudly Bug also rumbled across the pages of automotive history. The Brush Motor Car Company operated out of a factory in Highland Park, Michigan, between 1907 and 1913. Its Runabout, advertised as "Everyman's Car," featured a wooden axle and frame, "artillery" wheels with pneumatic tires, gas powered headlamps, three oil lamps, and a bulb horn that, when squeezed, went ah-OO-gah."
The verse inside this card reads "The best is yet to come. Happy Anniversary"
Photo researchers from Avanti Press have logged thousands of hours inside America's top photo archives looking for images that depict iconic events and moments from everyday life in America. Pairing these rarely seen images with warm, authentic, conversational verses, the company produces greeting cards that are literally history cover to cover. Nothing has been altered in these stunning photos, but the emotional heart of each image is revealed in the slice-of-life history found on the back of each card.
