Johnny Buffalo, Brooklyn-Based Beatboxer/Guitarist/Producer, Drops Debut EP

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Aug. 30, 2019 - PRLog -- Renowned beatboxer, guitarist and producer Johnny Buffalo shares his debut EP, "Welcome to Buffalo", to excited fans ranging from electronic, metal, rock and a cappella genres. Following the release of hit single "Crestwood Ave", also off the EP, Johnny takes listeners on a flight of sonic experiences, from electronic trap and hip hop production,  to fluid and intimate notes of rock and classical guitar, topped with his internationally-ranked beatboxing sounds. The sounds are all different mementos of his vast and successful career. From touring nationally, to playing Carnegie Hall, to opening up the famed Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival, there seems to be nothing Johny can't do, and this EP is sheer proof.

"Welcome to Buffalo,'' contains two "sides", or tracks, like a conventional EP, and a bonus track, all produced, written, and mixed by Johnny himself. It is a piece of classical aesthetic and mindset that defies genre in all its facets, and is emblematic of Johnny's own style.

About the EP, says Buffalo: "These tracks were a breakthrough for me musically. When I first started producing, songs would have 4 vastly different sections, because that's how my brain works - it's all over the place. I view myself as having two major sides to my art - the heavy side (trap / hip hop and heavy bass which inspires my beatboxing, and rock / metal), and the lighter side (classical guitar, with prettier sounding melodies, and complex progressions). I always viewed these sides as kind of conflicting. [This EP] was the first time that both sides existed simultaneously in a track, and that was the breakthrough. It became an extremely significant message to me. We are all made up of different sides that might conflict, and instead of trying to limit ourselves to one side or the other, we should embrace all of them simultaneously. That's what makes us who we are..."

A powerful and unique artist, Johnny hopes to pave the way for other unique and multifaceted artists and create avenues of intersectional, inter-genre appreciation for music in all its aspects. He is a part of a new wave of electronic music that focuses around performance, something that is rarely seen in the electronic musical sphere. Everything is performed live, with Buffalo switching between guitar, beatboxing, keys, and bass.
