HAVERHILL, Mass. - Sept. 1, 2019 - PRLog -- The Haverhill Cultural Council will host its annual Grant Information Night on Wednesday, September 4, at 10 Welcome Street, 2nd floor, Haverhill, MA to answer questions from local residents, non-profit groups, and community leaders about applying for a grants to assist in bringing cultural events and programs to Haverhill.

This season, $38,300 in available grant funds have been endowed by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, which is a 29% increase over last year's $29,600 allocation amount.

"The Haverhill Cultural Council is very grateful to the Mass Cultural Council and the state legislators for making this increase in funding possible and recognizing the value that arts and culture bring to our cities and towns," says HCC Chair Alison Colby-Campbell. "Our grant application period is open from September 1 through October 15. We look forward to seeing how the additional budget will enhance the cultural horizons in Haverhill for the upcoming year."

Last season, the Haverhill Cultural Council awarded $34,228 to 28 grant recipients for programs such as art shows, historical, educational, and cultural programs, music, community events for kids and families, school and church performances and more.

Anyone interested in learning more about how to apply for funding from the Haverhill Cultural Council to help bring cultural depth to the city can take advantage of the September 4 Information Night (7pm 10 Welcome Street, 2nd floor) where the Council will respond to individual questions about the application process. Members of the  Haverhill Cultural Council are appointed by Mayor James J. Fiorentini to serve on the Council for a 3-year term. HCC is a member of the Mass Cultural Council.
