, the country's premier scenic tourist rail operator and the industry expert in rail-related special event management, today announced it has hired Kevin Martin for the newly-created position of head of sales and marketing.
In this role, Martin will manage the planning, creation, management, and implementation of integrated marketing strategies and supporting tactics across AHR's multiple business units which annually serve over 1.5 million passengers worldwide. These divisions include the corporation's historic scenic railroad portfolio, comprised of the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad™ in Durango, Colorado; the Mount Rainier Railroad and Logging Museum™ in Elbe, Washington; and the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad™ in Bryson City, North Carolina, and AHR's licensing and production companies, Rail Events Inc. and Rail Events Productions. In addition, he will oversee all corporate branding and reputation management activities, corporate communication efforts, digital marketing campaigns, partner marketing plans, and strategic lead generation and customer acquisition initiatives that drive incremental revenue.

Martin is a passionate, innovative digital marketing leader who brings over 10 years of content creation, advertising technology implementation, and campaign management experience to AHR. Previously, he was a marketing project manager at Microsoft. During his four-year tenure at Amazon, Martin launched Amazon.jobs, its global careers website that is now the top online jobs destination in the world, and helped create and execute the company's "We Pioneer" global employment branding campaign. In addition, he managed improvements to Amazon's social advertising technology stack that drove over $400 million in incremental revenue in less than a year, and supported the invention and construction of technologies used for measuring and running video ads across multiple social platforms. Martin holds a bachelor's degree in social sciences from Fort Lewis College, and a master's degree in communications from the University of Washington.
