Parents will be able to register their children that afternoon for the 2019-2020 season which runs from September to June. Children who are not immediately comfortable with the choral experience are welcome to attend the rehearsal on September 17th before committing to the season. Our singers experience approximately 40 weeks of healthy vocal training, comprehensive musicianship skills, great choral music, teamwork, fun, and friendship throughout the term. The children present two concerts each season and there is the additional opportunity for the children to perform with Ars Musica Chorale, professional soloists, and professional instrumentalists at an annual holiday concert in December. More information may be obtained on our website at www.njstatechildrenschorus.org or by emailing info@njstatechildrenschorus.org. This year, the NJSCC welcomes Geralyn Keely as Artistic Director. Ms. Keely is a certified music teacher with a great deal of experience teaching children with a wide range of abilities. An accomplished soloist who has performed in the US and throughout Europe, Ms. Keely has a personal passion for choral singing that has informed her career. She is looking forward to sharing the gifts that were given to her as a young singer—the skills and opportunity to sing quality music. Ms. Keely notes, "Singing in choir is a life changing experience. It is a passageway to a higher dimension. It is an opportunity not only to discover the beauty of one's own voice but understanding how one voice becomes an integral part of a much greater experience." Now in its fourth season, the NJSCC was founded by Ridgewood-based Ars Musica Chorale as part of its educational outreach initiative. Through choral singing, the New Jersey State Children's Chorus endeavors to motivate its singers to strive for continued excellence in all facets of their lives and to enjoy a life-long appreciation of the arts. The New Jersey State Children's Chorus, LLC is a subsidiary of Ars Musica Chorale, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. End
