Ocean Exchange and the Marine Research Hub Announce Final Plans for October Innovation Event in Fort Lauderdale

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Aug. 22, 2019 - PRLog -- The ninth annual Ocean Exchange, to be hosted in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, will feature twelve innovative, sustainable worldwide solutions that demonstrate the ability to generate economic growth and increase productivity while reducing the use of nature's resources.  In its first year in Fort Lauderdale, Ocean Exchange in partnership with the Marine Research Hub (MRH) announced final plans for South Florida leaders to receive the event's global attendees and innovators.Local leaders from Broward, Palm Beach, and Miami-Dade counties formed a host committee to welcome visitors globally from business, government, NGOs, and academia who will participate in the Ocean Exchange event.  Committee members are:

The Ocean Exchange event, October 28-30, 2019,  will take place at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Broward County Convention Center with sponsorship of Broward County and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau.  Broward College is the named sponsor of the 2019 Collegiate Innovation Award of $10,000 to be presented at this year's Ocean Exchange event.  Ocean Exchange will continue to offer its two $100,000 innovation awards, the Orcelle® and the Neptune.  The Marine Research Hub is a sponsor of the Neptune Award and local partner for the event.  Additionally, the MRH will invite the 2019 Orcelle and Neptune Award winners to present at its Summit at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show on October 31.

The Marine Research Hub, headquartered in South Florida, is a 501(c)(3) formed to solidify collaboration among four university oceanographic research centers, three economic development organizations, and the Marine Industries Association of South Florida to establish the region as a global leader in oceanographic research and increase the likelihood of research projects reaching completion in the form of commercialization and technology transfer to benefit the earth and positively impact the human condition.
