Gaze upon the sublime silhouette of the Taj Mahal, one of India's most romantic spectacles, on the new, 10-day, India & Taj Mahal by Moonlight (https://www.corinthiantravel.co.uk/
Commissioned by Emperor Shah Jahan in 1632 as a tribute to the memory of his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal, the Taj Mahal is an iconic milk-white marble mausoleum and a symbol of India's artistic and cultural heritage.
The construction of the building – which was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983 – employed some 20,000 artisans under the guidance of a board of architects, led by the court architect to the emperor.
On the India & Taj Mahal by Moonlight tour you'll be able to experience the magic as you observe this sublime monument in its various moods: glistening in pale-pink at sunrise, warm shades of orange at sunset, and in translucent blue when you return to see the Taj Mahal by Moonlight.
The Taj Mahal by Moonlight experience occurs five nights a month and is best experienced between October and mid-November, and from February to May (due to foggy conditions during the winter months of December and January).
Other highlights of the tour will include jeep safaris in search of the majestic Bengal Tiger in Ranthambore National Park, exploring the yellow-hued Amer (Amber) Fort and the private apartments of the royal palace in the 'Pink City' of Jaipur (and a tuk-tuk ride), and an exciting cycle-rickshaw tour through the teeming streets of Mughal-built Old Delhi.
The holiday, which can start on any day of the week, costs from £1395 per person (two sharing a room). This includes private transportation throughout, nine-nights' B&B (plus two lunches) activities and sightseeing as per the itinerary (including entrance fees) and a guide.
International flights not included (bookable through Corinthian Travel).
