LONG BEACH, Calif. - Aug. 21, 2019 - PRLog -- On August 6, 2019, Attorney Stephen Garcia of Garcia & Artigliere filed a lawsuit against Redbrook Healthcare Associates, LLC, and associated affiliates, on behalf of an elderly woman who suffered damaging negligence while receiving care at one of their nursing homes. While at the nursing home, the plaintiff did not receive adequate care for preexisting health conditions, including ulcers. The negligence and poor care was the direct result of the administrative manager, Bryce Campbell's, failure to keep the facility properly staffed. Campbell, along with several other liable parties, is now facing a lawsuit for damages associated with the elderly woman's injuries and pain and suffering.

The Redbrook Healthcare Associates, LLC served as the licensee for the nursing home, which ran under the fictitious business name "Brookside Healthcare Center," where the plaintiff lived. The facility administrative duties were managed entirely by Bryce Campbell, who was responsible for the home's day-to-day operations. Both parties, along with two other affiliated corporations, were responsible for the plaintiff's welfare at the time she suffered her injuries, and are now facing liability for the resulting damage.

As a result of the facility's negligence, the plaintiff's injuries worsened significantly, and the caretakers failed to follow proper protocol by notifying the plaintiff's family or calling medical professionals for proper care. Caretakers should have changed the woman's position regularly to prevent her ulcers from worsening, and should have taken adequate measures to have the ulcers treated when they did worsen. However, Campbell's negligent hiring practices caused the facility to be badly understaffed, which led to the plaintiff's poor care. She was also denied adequate water, leading to dehydration, and was often in poor hygiene because caretakers failed to wash her regularly. As a result, her ulcers were so severe that they exposed the plaintiff's bone, and she was regularly left thirsty, dehydrated, and dirty.

In the lawsuit, the plaintiff alleges that the defendants were responsible for elder abuse, as well as negligent hiring and supervision.
