About the Megan Lally Memorial Fund
Inspired by Megan's courageous story, the Megan Lally Memorial Fund was formed by friends, family and loved ones to benefit Breast Cancer research. Megan, a resident of Worcester, MA and WPI graduate, lost her battle to breast cancer on September 1st, 2011 just shy of her 31s birthday.
The Megan Lally Memorial Fund, INC is a 501c(3) non-profit corporation. Proceeds from all events benefit not-for-profit Breast Cancer research. Through their 3 Run Like an Antelope Memorial 5K road races and other fundraising efforts, nearly $100,000 has been raised for breast cancer research.
Their events and fundraising efforts have sought to remember Megan by combining many of her loves including running, music and craft beer, while raising much needed funds.
Early on after founding the Megan Lally Memorial Fund, they decided to partner with the UMass Memorial Health Care Cancer Center of Excellence (CCOE). In addition to treating Megan, the CCOE exists to provide advanced care and to facilitate scientific discovery. The bulk of money raised has been donated to them and their front-line efforts to understand and one-day defeat breast and related cancers.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the support from many amazing people that have donated, volunteered and run alongside them and Megan. They could not have done this without you.
