Follow on Google News | Circadence's Keenan Skelly named Top Female Executive of the Year for the 2019 Women World AwardsThe annual Women World Awards program encompasses the world's best women in leadership, innovation, organizational performance, new products and services from every major industry across the globe. Public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large, small, and start-up organizations are all eligible to submit nominations. Judges representing a broad spectrum of industries evaluated all entries and their average scores determined the 2019 winners. "To be recognized by the Women World Awards is an honor and it's humbling to be included among so many female leaders who positively impact our communities and industries," Skelly's 20+ years of career achievements and her accomplishments evangelizing new approaches to cyber learning through Circadence's gamified learning solution made her an ideal winner. She is one of the less than 15% executive leaders in cybersecurity who are female. She was also one of the first female U.S. Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technicians. Keenan holds two bachelor's degrees from American Military University, one in Homeland Security and the other in Information Technology, as well as two master's degrees in National Security Policy Studies from National Defense University and Cybersecurity Strategy and Information Management from George Washington University. Skelly's efforts mentoring young women and her involvement with industry organizations including Cyber Patriot, Girls Who Code and Women's Society of Cyberjutsu made her a stand out nominee. By serving her community in this way, Keenan advocates for a more diverse cybersecurity workforce to improve cybersecurity preparedness.
