The ten Michaels Jewelers stores across Connecticut have been purchased by 7C Diamonds, Inc. from the Michaels family. Nine of the ten stores will remain open while a closing sale for the Torrington store will begin Friday, August 16.

WATERBURY, Conn. - Aug. 13, 2019 - PRLog -- Michaels Jewelers in Connecticut has been purchased by 7C Diamonds, Inc. of Springfield, Mass. W. Mark Michaels, CEO of the fifth-generation family-owned Michaels Jewelers announced, "Our business is proud to have reached a purchase agreement with our close family friend and highly-revered jewelry retail specialist Camile Hannoush, president of 7C Diamonds, Inc. based in Springfield, Mass."

With ten stores statewide, Michaels Jewelers is one of Connecticut's leading retailers of diamonds and fine jewelry. The business was founded in 1885 by Abraham L. Michaels and has been managed recently by fourth and fifth-generation family members.

"As I approach my retirement," continued Michaels, "we have sold our enterprise to another jewelry entrepreneur who will assure the continuation of our family's legacy past our current fifth generation."

DeAnna Syner, director of marketing for 7C Diamonds, Inc. stated, "Michaels Jewelers is a very secure, well-known and highly-valued brand. When Mark Michaels began making plans to retire, he spoke of his strong desire to continue the company's legacy. Our team is highly honored to keep moving the Michaels brand forward to keep the well-established legacy prominently viable.

Michaels Jewelers stores are currently located in Danbury, Orange, Avon, Torrington, Bristol, and in well-known malls that include Westfarms, Manchester's Buckland Hills, Westfield Trumbull, Westfield Meriden and Waterbury's Brass Mill Center. "Nine of these stores," assured Syner, "will remain open with their management and employee teams in place. We will repurpose and relocate the Torrington store inventory and staff to a yet-to-be-determined new store location, and on Friday, August 16, that store, at 80 Main Street, will begin a closing sale."

Employees in the nine continuing stores will remain.. Syner emphasized, "What is most important is that the well-established, highly-regarded values of the Michaels Jewelers brand will confidently continue."

Michaels Jewelers reigns as the first jeweler in Connecticut to earn the titles of Certified Gemologist and Appraiser. It also possesses one of the largest group of jewelry and gems appraisal departments in their retail stores statewide and is one of the few AGS Accredited Gem Laboratories in Connecticut.
