Follow on Google News | Atria Voorhees is named America's Most Fit Senior Community Contest WinnerForever Fit improves the lives of seniors through fitness around the country.
By: FOREVER FIT, LLC Forever Fit sponsored the contest to help the senior living communities they partner with increase awareness among seniors of the benefits of remaining physically active. Studies have shown that regular exercise allows seniors to improve their health and regain control of their daily activities. Forever Fit has witnessed the improvement in balance, strength, flexibility and mobility of seniors participating in its classes. This has resulted in reduced falls, improved cognitive skills and better eating habits among the seniors who have participated along with decreased spending on health care costs. Glen Parchmann, co-founder of Forever Fit, remarked, "It's clear that we can't improve mobility, strength, balance and flexibility to decrease falls and improve the lives of seniors through fitness unless the seniors attend the classes. It's fantastic that our partner senior communities offer these classes to their residents with no charge to any of the participants! The Atria Senior Living community in Voorhees had extremely high class participation levels along with excellent staff participation which was key to their winning the Gold medal (first place) in America's Most Fit Senior Community contest. The competition proved to be a fun way to help senior communities across the nation share their interest in improving the lives of seniors through fitness. You can help encourage seniors to participate in these classes by encouraging them to attend. The classes last about 30-45 minutes are and led by certified trainers who are familiar with working with seniors. Not only were the senior living communities winners, but also all the seniors who joined in the contest were winners by getting on the journey to a healthier life for 2019.
