Welcoming tellows in Pakistan and Philippines
By: tellows UG (haftungsbeschränkt)
The tellows platform has been growing in many countries, such as Germany, Italy, UK, Spain, Indonesia and many more. It's used by more than 7 million users every month in over 50 countries. In spite of its big market, the online platform still hasn't had a base in several countries, which have a severe issue with telephone scams. Some of those countries are the Philippines and Pakistan.
According to some Filipino users, telephone call scams are becoming more and more common nowadays. From non-stop unsolicited telemarketing calls to dangerous scam calls, the issue still remains unsolved and bothers many people. The same problem is found in Pakistan. One particular phone scam known as "Wangiri" has been reported to threat some people in Pakistan. This fraud usually forces people to call to international telephone numbers that could cost them a lot of money. Therefore, the citizens have been warning each other in various social networks. As call scams are becoming a threat to the society, there is still no optimal solution for this concerning issue. Therefore, tellows decided to step up to reduce the numbers of telephone spams and scams in both countries. Thus, tellows and many people lose thousands of dollars because of this. Thus, tellows has decided to expand its market and create new domains in Philippines and Pakistan.
The new domains can give the local users an opportunity to protect each other from nuisance calls and fraudsters. In the websites, users can insert ratings and comments for any telephone number. The rating usually includes caller name, caller type, optional comment, and the tellows score. The tellows score indicates how dangerous the number might be – with 1 indicating trustworthy number and 9 meaning dangerous number. The platform also gives detailed insights for local users, such as the name of the phone provider and the area of the telephone number, which is shown through a heatmap.
