NEW YORK - Aug. 5, 2019 - PRLog -- "Ironway: Watching Over Benjamin Hill," the powerful debut novel by writer Milan Sime Martinic, is in stores and online this August 3rd, with upcoming translations into Spanish and Portuguese, released by Editorial House.

The novel is a journey of a lifetime that goes beyond the cliches into a serious analysis of life and internal conflict. In an instant that hangs at the edge of life, a man is taken to re-live and re-rake his choices in the flesh; in a personal and genuinely contemplative retelling, he revisits his struggles with the understanding of himself, his freedom, and his responsibility as a man. It is not an easy moment; he wrestles with God, with circumstance, and with his younger-self, but he has to come to face the truth that wholly transforms him as a person. Life lays out the road of his decisions starkly against the roads taken by other lives that shared his experiences and made different choices. The lesson, in the end, is for him, and the teachers are his past and the wisdom of life.

Written in first-person in a strong, visceral style, "Ironway" confronts the personal demons of the protagonist as it embodies his story and that of Central American immigration to the extent that it explodes from a historical and social perspective. The novel, based on a true happening, is a fast-moving adventure that addresses internal and societal conflict with both the protagonists and society struggling to grasp one another. The landscape itself is a protagonist as are forces like war, gangs, crime, consequences, and redemption.

The reader is taken through memories that flood and plunge in and out of living nightmare carried by a propulsive current of misfortunes, losses, hopes, loves, tears, missteps, sorrows, and despairs in a journey that reveals an unknown destination and a silent quest that must be conjured and examined to make life meaningful
