New Leaders is a national leadership program that educates aspiring principals on how to properly ensure high academic achievement of all children. New Leaders was founded in 2001 and has prepared nearly 3,900 outstanding education leaders who reach nearly 500,000 students in more than 30 cities nationwide. "I am extremely excited to take on this new position at New Leaders, says Beulah McLoyd, principal of Walter H. Dyett High School for the Arts. "I joined New Leaders nearly ten years ago, because I wanted to seek additional help and to prepare myself to become a transformational leader in underserved communities. Because of New Leaders, I was able to make Walter H. Dyett High School for the Arts a level one, neighborhood, CPS high school that serves Black children in the greater Bronzeville community. I have also been able to increase the attendance rate to 92%, maintain a freshman-on- For eighteen years, Beulah has been providing college and career preparatory education to underprivileged and underserved youth and has a proven track record of transforming high school schools. Her duties include as the Executive Director of Program Implementation, Midwest Region: ● Serving as a thought – partner to school districts to establish high – quality leadership development models, based on their specific needs ● Evaluating leadership development model effectiveness ● Serving as a liaison between New Leaders and school districts to ensure effective communication ● Overseeing the integrated design and quality implementation of New Leaders programs ● Engaging with districts to ensure that their leadership development needs are met "I'm honored to be a part of an organization that helps cultivate diverse and talented educators, providing them with high-quality leadership training and resources that prepare them to elevate instruction across their schools, accelerate student learning, and build a brighter future for their communities."
