TRUSSVILLE, Ala. - Aug. 2, 2019 - PRLog -- The TIMS (Traffic Incident Management Scenario) Event will be a live re-enactment of a traffic accident conducted to provide insight on the procedures and coordination between Law Enforcement, Fire/Rescue and Towing/Recovery and is produced in tandem with the Orange Beach Alabama Police and the Orange Beach Fire Department. The event will be emceed by professionals from Wreckmaster Inc. who will announce a true play-by-play of the re-enactment.

The 2019 Southern Tow Expo TIMS Event will be the first to be conducted at night starting at 8:15 CST and the accident scenario will involve a school bus incident. In this and in many scenarios, the towing & recovery efforts can also be a rescue efforts helping Fire and/or EMS to gain access to trapped or inaccessible victims.

Jeff Smith, Deputy Chief of the Orange Beach Fire Department says on the show & event, "The benefits of having an event of this type are enormous for our community.  Not only do our personnel get the opportunity to work alongside experienced recovery personnel and see what the towing industry has to offer, they also experience first-hand the advantages of working together with other agencies or industries to achieve a common goal.  In addition, the community gets to experience first-hand the complexities and hazards the responders face while working a roadway incident."

Tow Professional's developed this annual event to stress the fact that towing & recovery is a first-response profession. An average of 43 workers per year lose their life on-duty each year in towing & recovery and they are 20 times more likely to be injured than the next most dangerous profession  according to the data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Darian Weaver, Owner of Tow Professional Magazine and The Southern Tow Expo, along with his wife Holly, were constant proponents in Alabama Governor Kay Ivey's decision to proclaim August "Slow Down & Move Over Awareness Month".

Owner Darian Weaver states, "The event is an opportunity to educate the public on the dangers that our Police, Fire, EMS & Tow Operators face daily. They  work 6 inches from the white line. We the public need to remember the motto "Slow Down, Move Over, "so they have the room to operate and make it home to their loved ones as well."

The Southern Tow Expo will be held Friday August 9th and Saturday August 10th and Show hours are 12pm to 6pm CST on both days.
