Team Flip Murray Faces off Against The Famed Goodman League in All-Star Game

PHILADELPHIA - July 26, 2019 - PRLog -- Flip Murray Pro-Am Travel Team (otherwise known as #TeamFlipMurray) faces off against the famed Goodman League, this Saturday July 27 at 8:30pm.

The clash takes place "Inside Da Gates", home to The Goodman League, hallowed ground fit for basketball legends. Through the years, many NBA superstars, and top College athletes have played these courts, an annual Summer ritual for basketball players nation-wide.

#TeamFlip roster is loaded with Murray leading the charge. Suiting up alongside Murray: Sean Singletary (ex-NBA & UVA, Phoenix Suns & Charlotte Bobcats), Mike Green (ex-NBA Summer League Phila 76ers & Portland Trailblazers, Overseas Pro), Bilal Ben (Overseas Pro, Villanova & Niagara) Corey Bethea (Overseas Pro & WVU), Kenny Wilson (Overseas Pro, Neumann), Andre Saunders (Semi-Pro, Salem CC), Marcus Williams (Semi-Pro, Mountain State Univ, WV), Jaisan Wilmore (Salem CC (JUCO track), Abdur Scott (formr Pro & Columbia Union). Greg BigFella Cannon (WVU, Semi-Pro) rounds out the team.

This will be a game to remember. Many from Goodman League Team will be from semi-pro team The Funkhouse Pirahnas, previous championship winners.

ABOUT FLIP MURRAY

An inspiration to his fans and peers, Ronald "Flip Murray" is Philadelphia's own basketball legend. Growing up in the tough streets of North Philadelphia, Murray began wowing his teammates and spectators with his basketball skills at Strawberry Mansion High. After community college, Murray went on to play with Shaw University, in North Carolina, where he made huge impact. In his senior year, he won won National MVP award of al DII Colleges, and was 46th pick in the NBA draft.

Murray went on to play a successful 8 years in the NBA for Seattle Sonics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons, Indiana Pacers, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Bobcats, and the Chicago Bulls. He was also the NBA D-League champion in 2012, and the NABC Division II Player of the Year in 2002.

In Philadelphia, Flip Murray is otherwise referred to as "The GOAT".
