National Weather Service High Heat Advisory

High Heat Advisory for Parts Of The Western United States As Summer Heats Up
By: Enviro Safety

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - July 26, 2019 - PRLog -- The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for parts of the Western United States, while OSHA is reminding employers to protect workers from heat illness.  Both indoor workers and outdoor workers can be exposed to extreme heat, leading to the need for all workers to be protected.

Three words summarize heat safety: Water, Rest and Shade.  Workers need water before, during and after exposure to high temperatures and humid conditions.  Workers need adequate rest for their bodies to recover.  And workers need shade to periodically block the direct sunlight.

Employers are reminded that heat illnesses and fatalities are preventable.  Take steps to provide workers with Water, Rest and Shade.  Additionally, consider offering workers heat safety training, cooling towels, sunscreen and hydration supplies.
