CHESAPEAKE, Va. - July 24, 2019 - PRLog -- CollegeWeekends.com (https://collegeweekends.com/) today announced the launch of its completely redesigned short-term rental listing platform.

"We have completely revamped the CollegeWeekends.com platform, and have developed a ton of new and exciting features to support renters, owners and municipalities," states Ritta Cunningham, CollegeWeekends.com, Vice President of Operations.  "Our goal is to not only help visitors rent short-term lodging in college towns, but also maximize their college town visit experience.  We've added great mapping enhancements and college town favorite content to help users explore where to go, where to eat, and things to do during their stay."

Founded in a college town, CollegeWeekends.com connects alumni, fans, parents of students and other travelers with short-term lodging and vacation rentals in college towns.  As the short-term rental industry has continued to explode with the growth of market leaders, Airbnb and HomeAway, CollegeWeekends.com has built a presence in a number of college towns such as Charlottesville, Virginia (University of Virginia) and Oxford, Mississippi (Ole Miss), and plans to target its marketing focus on 15-20 new college town markets each year, though listings in any college town within the US can be accommodated.

CollegeWeekends.com raised an initial round of capital in late 2018 to redevelop its platform and partnered with Fuel Digital, a leading website development company based in Richmond, Virginia, to help lead its redesign efforts.  The new platform has been reengineered to enable easy navigation on mobile devices, and enhanced mapping capabilities that will allow renters to pinpoint their lodging options relative to college town attractions.

CollegeWeekends.com will also enable owners to more easily track and collect lodging-related tax requirements, which will be a benefit to municipalities as well.

"Not only have company valuations continued to sky-rocket in the short-term rental listing space, but customer adoption and usage is also growing at a double-digit pace.  This evolution and rapid growth of the industry has created tremendous opportunities for unique models to emerge," states Ritta.  "With our college town niche, we are extremely excited about the potential for our new platform, and will be increasing CollegeWeekend.com's footprint in college towns across the U.S.," says Cunningham.

The Company also plans to expand its platform to accommodate large youth sports events, college events such as the Final Four, the College World Series and other special sporting events including NASCAR, PGA, MLB, and NFL.
