| IBT of Miami plants trees to regenerate forest in Dominican RepublicAward-winning global construction consortium specializes in public works construction projects for public institutions with emphasis on ecological conservation, biodiversity and education to improve the environment.
By: IBT of Miami "We are proud to be a part of the regeneration of the ecosystem in the Dominican Republic. It's our corporate responsibility at IBT to be committed to the countries where we work, whether it's the jobs we create, the social initiatives we develop, or the opportunity to join efforts like this in partnership with other organizations," IBT employees spent a day in the mountainous Constanza township region to help plant 2,000 pine, juniper and palm trees at a collaborative tree planting project within the Scientific Reserve Las Neblinas. Since the reforestation program was initiated, more than 42,000 trees have been planted by IBT and other organizations. The day was coordinated and supported by the country's Ministry of Environment, Environmental Council and the military's 6th Battalion of Hunters of Constance. Alfridomsa, a subsidiary of IBT in the Dominican Republic, made a commitment to maintain the area together with the Ministry of Environment, including installing trash cans for recycling solid waste. The efforts are part of the company's emphasis on ecological conservation, biodiversity and education to improve the environment and mitigate the effects of global warming. The scientific reserve was created in 1996 as a nationally protected area to conserve the flora of a tropical mountain forest. The area's rivers supply drinking water and irrigation for several agricultural communities in the surrounding area. The country's neighbor, Haiti, on the island of Hispaniola is among the most deforested countries in the world. IBT is a business group specialized in the development of public works, implementation of construction projects and equipment for public institutions. Its solutions are comprehensive and range from engineering, studies, design and construction; End
