A conversation with Miss Shivani Pathak Winner Ms Extraordinary - Plus Size 2019

NEW DELHI - July 19, 2019 - PRLog -- 1. How do you feel after winning the crown?

Ans. I feel great on winning the crown, to be honest, I was very nervous in the beginning but as things progressed I was at ease and felt confident to make it to the top. I feel a lot more responsible now.

2. Since when have you been preparing for this pageant?

Ans. I'd say my whole life! (Laughs) Ever since I was young, I wanted to have my 'Sushmita Sen' moment. But then growing up, I realized that it isn't possible with my body type. Never in my wildest dream did I think I'd have my 'Sushmita Sen' moment too. But on a serious note,  I think it took me 1-2 months, to brushen up my talent skills,  to organize my outfits and search for my perfect finale gown.

3. What tips do you wish to give to upcoming or the women who wish to participate these beauty pageants?

Ans. Just believe in yourself, have faith in your capabilities and also know your own limits and work hard for it. You need to have presence of mind and be confident about your body. Be a very happy person inside, because I think that is most important. If anyone wants to come and experience this or explore themselves, I think they should come without the fear of rejection and give it their best shot, irrespective of what the results are.

4. Do you think that beauty pageants are important? If yes why?

Ans. You tend to think due to society that being beautiful only means being tall, thin and fair. But that's when beauty pageants like these come in. To let one and all know that beauty can never be defined. It gives each one of us an opportunity not only to explore our outer beauty but also the inner beauty.  It gives every woman a cause to make a difference in whatever matters to them. Pageants help us become a better version of ourselves.  Confidence is key within pageantry.

5. What do you plan now with the crown? How do you want to take it further?

Ans. Currently as an Intern doing BDS,  I have come across many situations that pertain to the problems in the health and educational sector,  especially in rural parts of India. I would like to make my contributions into changing that.  Other than that,  I wish to motivate all the plus size beauties.  I wish to instill confidence in them. To be a role model for them.  Maybe start pageants within my city Pune and if all goes well, continue with pageants for the disabled and also our lGBTQ communities.
