L.A. Care Invites You to a Back-to-School Health Fair
A fun-filled day that includes free health screenings and a backpack giveaway
By: L.A. Care
That's why for the fifth year in a row, L.A. Care Health Plan, the largest publicly-operated health plan in the country, is stepping up to help. L.A. Care is holding back-to-school health fairs at its six Family Resource Centers (FRC), where backpacks filled with school supplies will be distributed to children.
"School supplies are critical for setting the tone for the entire school year," said Mabel Ponce, FRC Manager. "Given the tools they need to learn, children can remain focused in the classroom and that will help them realize academic success."
The next Back-to-School Health Fair is Saturday, July 20, 10 am to 1 pm, at the Pacoima FRC, 10807 San Fernando Road, San Fernando.
The event will feature many free activities, including:
- Health and developmental screenings.
- Haircuts for the kids
- A rock climbing wall
- Face painting
- Balloon artists
- Raffles and more
More than 4,000 backpacks will be distributed over the course of the six L.A. Care Back-to-School Health Fairs.
