Paul Davis proudly supports Child Cancer Fund with raising more than $230,000

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - July 15, 2019 - PRLog -- Paul Davis Restoration Inc.'s team members from the company's headquarters in Jacksonville, Fla. recently participated in the Fifth Annual WOKV Care-a-Thon presented by Duval Asphalt to benefit the Child Cancer Fund. The event raised more than $230,000 for the 501 c (3) non-profit organization which provides emotional, practical, and financial support services for northeast Florida families facing a child's cancer diagnosis and treatment with 100 percent of the donations from the event going directly to local families with children who are battling cancer.

As a parent of a young child with cancer, Paul Davis' Laura L. Ferrante, Esq., Corporate Legal Counsel for the North American franchise company, was instrumental in starting the non-profit 25 years ago to help guide families through the process of childhood cancer. Ferrante and the Paul Davis team participated in the event hosted by News104.5 WOKV.

Listeners who wished to donate tuned into the local station at NEWS104.5 FM from 5 am until 6 pm on July 12 during the live broadcast from Nemours Children's Specialty Care in Jacksonville. More than 17 Paul Davis staff members volunteered in the call center and data processing center during the event. Additionally, an online auction was open for bidding on items and merchandise.

The Child Cancer Fund is a grassroots organization founded in 1994 to serve parents and children in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia by helping them through the challenges of childhood cancer. The organization's focus is to provide emotional, practical, educational, and financial support to families during the healthcare journey.

The organization partners with Nemours Children's Specialty Care and Wolfson Children's Hospital to implement programs and services such as play activities at Nemours, making a family house or car payment, providing educational material, or a fun family weekend at Camp Boggy Creek (http://www.boggycreek.org/) in Eustis, Fla., among others. Also, the non-profit established the Christy Fund which is a restricted account in memory of Christy Keirnan to ensure funding for the Child Life Specialist position at Nemours Children's Specialty Care.
