The War & Treaty Nominated for Two Awards During the 2019 Americana Honors
The husband/wife powerhouse has been nominated for Duo/Group of the Year as well as Emerging Group of the Year by the American Music Association.

Before joining the Americana genre, Tanya would forge her own path through the music industry performing in Sister Act 2 with Lauryn Hill and signing with Sean "Diddy" Combs while Michael, a self-taught piano player, wrote and performed at church services and throughout his tour in Iraq performing original songs written to honor the fallen.

ABOUT THE WAR & TREATY
As "The War and Treaty", Michael and Tanya serve up funky bass lines, keys, lap steel, acoustic strings, and stripped-down percussion to create a swampy Southern soul bed for the couple's superior vocals. The War and Treaty deliver live shows and records that make the hairs on the back of necks stand up, their music and stories bring tears and goosebumps that help to tear down walls leaving the audience to feel every aspect of the music.
