Northwest Indiana musician Robert Rolfe Feddersen is Playing PJ's Lager House in Detroit

CROWN POINT, Ind. - July 10, 2019 - PRLog -- Singer songwriter Robert Rolfe Feddersen (RRF) is returning to PJ's Lager House to play this Sunday evening highlighting his new release 'Pepper In His Heart', which has some direct Detroit associations.

         "My new album definitely has Detroit's fingerprints on it," Feddersen states. "I have a song titled 'Detroit' that expresses my musical fondness for this city including a reference to PJ's. I love that place. I have played it a few times over the years and am thrilled to be coming back.

"The vinyl copies of 'Pepper In His Heart' were pressed at Jack White's Third Man Pressing in Detroit. I have a fondness for records, and I wanted the pressing done right at one of the best production facilities on 180-gram vinyl."

         RRF shares the bill Sunday night (July 14) with Chicago native Jake La Botz and local musician Don Duprie. The show begins at 7pm with Duprie, followed by Feddersen, then finishing with La Botz. Tickets for the event are $8.

         Released in late March, 'Pepper In His Heart' is the ninth solo release for the always touring and gold record selling musician. It was recorded by legendary producer Steve Albini at Electrical Audio studios in Chicago. This is Feddersen's third album working with Albini.

'Pepper In His Heart' delivers ten fresh tracks that are inspired by real life experiences and themes including the title track, which is a toe tapping number about the daughter of a close friend and their spicy tale.

Also, in the lineup of new songs is RRF and his wife's (and touring partner, Terri Ann) cover of the Tom Petty and Stevie Nick's 1981 song 'Stop Draggin' My Heart Around.'

"The amazing thing is this was the first song that Terri and I ever sang together 30 years ago on the day we met," Feddersen recalls. "Terri has always wanted to record this song. She arranged this version and we knocked it out in a taping at Electrical Audio a bit before the recording session for this album. It is our special adaptation of the Tom and Stevie song."

Feddersen's musical career dates back to 1982 first performing at a Catholic school on his native South Side of Chicago. The musical evolution along the way includes lead singer for the rock band Loudmouth in the mid-90's generating the platinum selling song "Fly" that appeared on the soundtrack of the movie Varsity Blues. For the past few years besides touring, Robert has been co-hosting 'Left of Center' on the Valparaiso, Ind. community radio station WVLP-LP 103.1 FM, which has featured and interviewed many Detroit musical artists including Craig Brown and the Drinkard Sisters (Caitlin and Bonnie).

Encompassing many genres, the RRF sound most closely touches the folk side of music with a very open, honest, reflective, humorous, and topical approach. His songwriting has been compared to early Bruce Springsteen, Steve Earle, and Woody Guthrie. RRF live shows are always entertaining, engaging, and audience interactive.
