Author Richard White to appear at Friday Night Live
Richard White returns to Rutland to sign autographed copies of his new book Shattered Glass
"After losing Jordan, Kevin and Nikki over the past couple of years, I couldn't really stand silent anymore. Something needs to be done. Our friends need to know that someone is there. I think we all need to know that we can reach out to someone if we are that low." Says Richard White speaking of his lost friends.
Richard grew up in Danby Vt, attending Mill River Union High School and graduating in 1998. He has since traveled to New York where he lives with his wife and daughter. Besides writing, he works for a lawn care and landscaping company in Ballston Lake, NY. When he isn't working he is writing, hunting or fishing, he plans to continue writing novels of different genres.
Shattered Glass is a book of poetry that explores themes of mental health, depression, anxiety, PTSD, drug addiction, and suicide. It is a documentation of struggle and triumph to celebrate life and living. White's wit, empathy, and a passion for poetry produce a work of endless wonder.
Shattered Glass is Richard's testament to his own fight with depression, anxiety PTSD, and drug addiction that haunts his past. Inspired by some of his students from high school. Richard wrote Shattered Glass in memory of the students they have lost over the past few years, and in special memorial to Jordan Bemis a fellow Mill River student that lost his fight with drug addiction.
