Sifu Restita DeJesus to Present Seminar on Chen Tai Chi at the 20th Anniversary Masters Hall of Fame Celebration
By: Kamatoy Media Group
Sifu DeJesus began her martial arts studies in 1978 with Butokukan Karate, later adding Doce Pares Eskrima, Filipino Martial Arts Academy, Kajukenbo-Chuan Fa, Wun Hop Kuen Do, Eskrido, Pangamot, Chen Tai Chi, Yang Tai Chi, Wushu, and the Japanese archery art of Kyudo to her list of styles. She is also proficient in the use of bullwhip, blowgun and throwing knives. Additionally, Sifu DeJesus is the co-host of the popular Dynamic Dojo Radio Show on BlogTalkRadio.com.
A 2001 International gold medalist in Chen T'ai Chi at the World T'ai Chi Health Conference games in Hainan, China, Sifu DeJesus' interests in the martial arts stemmed in part from her own family history. Her paternal great-grandfather, Santiago Toledo, was a well known Filipino Martial Arts Master and founder of the Toledo style of Eskrima and the Toledo-Collado Style. Sifu DeJesus has founded or co-founded several schools, and is currently the owner and lead instructor of the Seattle Wushu Center in Washington. She has been inducted into numerous Halls of Fame including the Masters Hall of Fame (2011), World Doce Pares Federation Hall of Fame (2012), Association of Women Martial Arts Instructors Hall of Fame (2013), and the Martial Arts History Museum Hall of Honors (2014).
"Restita DeJesus is not only a talented martial artist and an amazing instructor in multiple arts," says Masters Hall of Fame Chairman Dr. Daniel Hect, "she is a close friend and valuable member of the Masters Hall of Fame family. We are absolutely delighted to have her present at our seminar series."
The Masters' Seminars are free to Masters guests and inductees. However, donations will be accepted on behalf of the Royal Family Kids Camp, an organization dedicated to supporting foster children.
"The Masters Hall of Fame is proud to be able to offer these amazing martial arts seminars with some of the legends in our community," says Dr. Hect. "These great leaders are giving of their time to share their knowledge and experience with our attendees and inductees. This is just another example of the quality of people in the organization."
