The Garden State Philharmonic announces its 64th Season on the Jersey Shore

TOMS RIVER, N.J. - July 8, 2019 - PRLog -- The Garden State Philharmonic is proud to announce its 64th Season on the Jersey Shore under the direction of Music Director & Conductor, Diane Wittry. The Season will consist of a four concert Orchestra Series as well as a new Chamber Music Series. Named as one of the "Top 30 Music Influencers" by Musical America Worldwide, Conductor, DIANE WITTRY, is the newly appointed Music Director and Conductor of the Garden State Philharmonic. Diane Wittry is known for her innovative programming and her engaging audience rapport. She is a conductor who "specializes in finding creative ways to make the music fresh, accessible, and exciting."

The Orchestra Series will open on November 3rd at 3:00 p.m. at the Jay & Linda Grunin Center for the Arts on the campus of Ocean County College in Toms River, NJ with "MOZART". This afternoon all about Amadeus will feature some of his most beloved compositions including The Overture to the Marriage of Figaro, Rondo for Violin & Orchestra, as well as his Symphony No. 39. "MOZART" is sponsored in part by the family of Ellen and William Petro. The Orchestra Series continues with the annual "Messiah & More!" concert featuring the GSP Chorus under the direction of Steven Russell. "Messiah & More!" will take place on Sunday, December 8th at 2:30 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Toms River, NJ. On April 25th, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. the Garden State Philharmonic in partnership with Monmouth University will bring the sounds of your favorite opera choruses to life at the Strand Theater in Lakewood, NJ. "Opera Choruses" will bring together the voices of the GSP Chorus and the Monmouth University Chamber Choir on one stage. Featured operas include Nabucco, Madama Butterfly, Rigoletto, and many more. The Orchestra Series will conclude on May 30th, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. with "Romantic Strings" at the Jay & Linda Grunin Center for the Arts. The Romantic period was one of the most innovative in music history, characterized by lyrical melodies, rich harmonies, and emotive expression. Featured works include the Holberg Suite, by Grieg, Shostakovich's Concerto for Piano No. 1, Op. 35, as well as Tchaikovsky's String Serenade.

New this season, the Garden State Philharmonic is pleased to introduce a Chamber Music Series. These two concerts will take place at the Jay & Linda Grunin Center for the Arts on the campus of Ocean County College and offer intimate concerts with members of the Garden State Philharmonic. Each performance will highlight orchestra members in solo, duet, or small ensemble settings, offering unique and exciting concert experience.  The Chamber Music Series will open on Saturday, September 28th at 8:00 p.m. with "Fall Fantasy", showcasing the talents of Karl Kramer-Johansen (solo French Horn), Allison Kiger (Flute and Guitar duet), and Greg Landes (Percussion and Piano duet). The Chamber Music Series will continue on Sunday, March 15th with "Spring Sonata", showcasing the talents of Jameson Platte (solo Cello), Uli Speth (solo Violin), and Ben Goldberg, Composer-in-Residence and Toms River native.

Full-price tickets range from $10 to $50, with reduced fixed rates for senior citizens, students, and groups of 10 or more.
