Joseph Federico, Director of NJMET Inc., Announces Its 2019 STEM Scholarship Recipient

NJMET's 2019 scholarship was awarded to Abelardo Ortega., a graduating senior from Passaic County Technical Institute in Wayne, NJ. NJMET Vice President Joseph Federico presented it on June 27th at NJMET's Laboratory Headquarters in Clifton, NJ.

CLIFTON, N.J. - July 1, 2019 - PRLog -- Joseph Federico, NJMET Director of Operations, announced the company's annual scholarship for Engineering, Science and Technology was awarded to Mr. Abelardo Ortega, a graduating senior from Passaic County Technical Institute in Wayne, NJ. Mr. Ortega excels in the studies of science and technology and plans to attend Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ where he will be majoring in mechanical engineering.

"It was a sincere pleasure to present Abelardo with this scholarship. He has been an outstanding student throughout his years at PCTI participating in engineering workshops which included development of schematics, understanding electrical circuits, soldering, mechanical engineering and CAD Design," said NJMET Vice President and Director Joseph Federico from NJMET's Clifton, NJ laboratory and headquarters. Mr. Ortega was presented with a gift check and a plaque by Mr. Federico alongside Abelardo's mother. This is the third consecutive year a student from the Passaic County Technical Institute has received the award and overall fifth time in the history of NJMET's scholarship presentations. Last year's recipient from Passaic County Technical Institute was Stephen Danso Jr.

"We at NJMET Inc. are pleased to present this scholarship for the 19th consecutive year and to offer an internship to current college students who will learn the intricacies of electronic component testing in the industrial, military and aerospace arenas," added Federico. Mr. Ortega will work at NJMET in Clifton for the remainder of the summer prior to beginning his studies in the fall.
