DENVER - June 28, 2019 - PRLog -- .  Researcher and local author Dr. Cara E. Koch has been invited to speak at the International Parental Alienation Study Group Conference 2019 to be held in Philadelphia, PA on September 12-14.  She is the author of the forthcoming book, From Heartbreak to Healing: Resolving Parental Alienation.

Dr. Koch states, "If you know anyone whose child has suddenly and unjustifiably rejected them, often during a separation or divorce process, they may be part of a growing world epidemic called Parental Alienation (PA)." PA occurs when one parent sabotages the other to the child, creating the belief that the target parent is dangerous, does not love them, or cannot be counted on.  It is considered psychological child abuse.

The World Health Organization has recently announced the addition of Parent Alienation as an index term for their diagnostic manual.  This manual serves as a world-wide model and guide for medical systems in nations around the world.  The Parental Alienation Study Group (PASG) under the leadership of Dr. William Bernet of Vanderbilt University led the effort to include parental alienation in the WHO diagnostic manual.
