SAVANNAH, Ga. - June 24, 2019 - PRLog -- FYZICAL® Savannah Celebrates Anniversary with Open House on June 26

FYZICAL® Savannah, a local center providing balance therapy and fall prevention treatment, will hold a community open house Wednesday, June 26, to celebrate its first year in business and to introduce patients, area physicians and the public to the cutting-edge technology recently added to the practice.

The open house will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26 at 322 Commercial Drive. Light refreshments will be served, and live demonstrations of FYZICAL®'s equipment will take place.

Guests will get to see the practice's unique Safety Overhead System (S.O.S.) and Computerized Dynamic Posturography (CDP) in action. This equipment is only available at facilities that specialize in balance and vestibular rehabilitation.

Computerized Dynamic Posturography enables therapists to safely evaluate each of the three sensory inputs that play a role in balance — vestibular (or inner ear), somatosensory (or the feet, ankles and joints), and vision.

For the CDP test, patients wear a safety harness that ensures they will not fall and be injured during the test. The specialist then administers a series of tests to examine how well a patient can maintain his or her balance under changing conditions. A panoramic scene presented on a wrap-around screen provides the visual clues during the testing. The test operator can also tilt or slide the platform on which the person is standing to evaluate how their balance adjusts to situations.

The Safety Overhead System (S.O.S.) consists of an overhead track and moveable trolley that allows for freedom of movement of patients, while secured in a simple, comfortable body harness, and it allows the ability to perform functional types of activities with minimal risk of injury. By removing the risk of falling during therapy, patients gain the confidence needed to heal and improve.

Demonstrations of both pieces of equipment will take place throughout the event.

The open house event is free to attend and open to the public.
