DCI East Liverpool Celebrates 30 Years of Service to the Community

EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio - June 21, 2019 - PRLog -- Dialysis Clinic, Inc. (DCI) is hosting a picnic celebration at the Thompson Park in Pavilion 1 (2626 Park Way, East Liverpool, OH) on Sunday, June 23 from 1pm until 4pm. Current and retired employees along with current and past patients and their families are invited to attend.

"Our dialysis team loves what we do and we believe that 30 years of service is a milestone to be celebrated," stated Dave Miller, RN, DCI East Liverpool Nurse Manager. "Our dedicated and talented staff, past and present, have grown up with many of these patients. The patients and their loved ones are just like family to us."

The celebration begins at 1pm with a lunch supplied by MJB BBQ being served at 1:30pm. Bruster's will be on-site with ice cream that will be served at 2:30pm. A Chinese Auction will raise money for the DCI Western PA Kidney Kamp. DCI patients will receive tickets at no charge. Family and friends may purchase tickets on-site.

"As a non-profit dialysis provider, DCI seeks fun ways to educate the community about kidney disease and support those battling this chronic disease," shared Patti Gauntner, DCI Area Operations Director. "In the past we've hosted a community dodgeball challenge coupled with a health fair to provide kidney disease education. We recently held our third annual community golf tournament that provided kidney disease education along the course. The golf tournament, along with this picnic celebration, will raise money for the DCI Western PA Kidney Kamp."

The DCI Western PA Kidney Kamp, held from July 28 – August 2, welcomes children ages 8-16 years old in various stages of kidney disease to the Ligonier Camp and Conference Center for a week of fun and relationship building. Children performing peritoneal dialysis will be assisted on-site. Children needing hemodialysis will be transported to a local DCI facility for treatment during the week.

DCI operates 10 dialysis centers in Ohio and provides free chronic kidney disease education through REACH Kidney Care, located in Cincinnati, Portsmouth, Seaman and East Liverpool. DCI East Liverpool opened its doors in February 1989.
