PHILADELPHIA - June 20, 2019 - PRLog -- Philly's premiere storytelling organization, First Person Arts, in collaboration with the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission present "Courageous Stories on Sexual Harassment".  This evening of FREE StorySharing Workshops will feature storytellers: Colleen Kennedy, Kat Laff, and Emily Woods. Four separate StorySharing workshops will feature a storyteller that will connect and engage with others to share their stories, whether publically, or written privately. Storytelling tips from First Person Arts will help guests craft their own stories. The workshop takes place on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at the Painted Bride Art Center in Old City.

The event runs from 5:30pm-9pm and each workshop is broken down, as follows:

Stories of Allies and Allyship- Hearing stories from people who have supported and worked with victims of sexual violence. Attendees can expect to learn basic techniques of storytelling and how to share your story in a supportive environment.

Stories of Whistleblowers- Attendees will listen to stories of citizens who stood up against sexual harassment and be encouraged to share any of their personal stories where they did the same.

After it Happened: Stories of Healing and Empowerment-Listen to stories on how the healing process looks for storytellers. In this workshop, guests are invited to join the healing process with their stories of healing and empowerment after their experiences.

The Writing Zone-This StorySharing workshop is perfect for those who want to share their story and are uncomfortable with standing in front of a group of people. Guests will be guided through several writing exercises that will help them craft their story.

The First Person Arts Applied Storytelling Programming places first person storytelling at the forefront of the healing process and uses it as a vehicle to build stronger communities around the issues facing us all. The organization is regularly engaged by a diverse range of organizations to create customized storytelling programs, which tackle specific issues of concern to our partner communities.
