Newhaven Court at Clearview sets Veterans' Aid & Attendance Benefit event

BUTLER, Pa. - June 20, 2019 - PRLog -- Newhaven Court at Clearview senior living and memory care community will host a Veterans' Aid & Attendance Benefit seminar on Wednesday, June 26.

    John Cyprian of the Butler County Veterans Services will be the featured speaker during the event held from 9 to 11 a.m. at Newhaven Court at Clearview, 100 Newhaven Lane in Butler. RSVP is requested to the senior living community at 724.477.8701.

    "This is such a valuable benefit that sadly a lot of people are not aware of," said Gary Renwick, Newhaven Court at Clearview Executive Director. "Besides having long-term care insurance, this is essentially the only financial supplement out there that assists with the daily costs of living in long-term care facilities like Newhaven Court."

    "Not only are veterans eligible for this financial assistance, but spouses of veterans are as well," Renwick continued. "The monthly benefit for the both the veteran and spouse can be significant and it can lessen the financial impact, but also allows a person to extend their personal funds for a much longer time."

    Cyprian will discuss the details of the Veterans' Aid & Attendance Benefit and how it relates to long-term care and personal care home residents. He will provide insight on the "do's and don'ts" to applying for VA benefits.

    "Because this is a federal program, the application and approval process can be lengthy and quite stressful," Renwick said. "These seminars are so important because it helps people navigate through the process from the beginning to the end."
