Gold Star Wives and Mothers Say "No" to Socialism in Rally for Freedom at U.S. Capitol July 4th!

WASHINGTON - June 19, 2019 - PRLog -- Kimberly Fletcher, president of Moms for America and Karen Vaughn, Gold Star Mom and director of Strategic Initiatives for Moms for America will be joined by more than 40 Gold Star Wives, Mothers and their families in a Rally for Freedom to stand FOR Independence and AGAINST the radical socialist agenda being promoted by some members of Congress. "Gold Star" is a recognition given to an immediate family member who has lost a loved one in military service.

The Rally for Freedom will take place July 4^th 10:00am on the U.S. Capitol lawn (Section 10) on the corner of Independence Ave SE and First Ave SE. The public is welcome and the media is invited to attend.

Gold Star Mom, Karen Vaughn, who lost her son, Navy SEAL Aaron Carson Vaughn in 2011, said, "Our message is clear. We lost sons, daughters, and husbands fighting to defend the Constitution and our Republic. Losing the very nation they died defending is not something we are willing to accept." Moms for America is asking members of Congress to sign a Pledge and Promise (https://momsforamerica.us/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Statement-of-Promise.pdf) to the American people which states:

In recognition of the tremendous sacrifices made throughout our nation's history, and in honor of America's Gold Star families who've paid the ultimate price for freedom, I affirm my oath to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic" and pledge to maintain and promote its standard of liberty for ourselves and our posterity. I further pledge and promise that I will stand firm in the fight to secure our Representative Republic and will do everything in my power to make sure America never becomes a Socialist country.
